Nakajima Ki-43 I Hayabusa - Fujimi 1/72

The old Fujimi kit, some issues, mostly about the canopy and his fitting, but still a nice build. I choose to represent an aircraft of 11th Sentai based at Burma in 1942 , with an unusual field apply camouflage. I would thanks Nicholas Millman for his crucial help about IJAAF colors, camouflage and markings.

Focke Wulf FW 190 A-8 - Hasegawa 1/72

Lavoretto di qualche anno fa, scatola speciale Hasegawa per i 50 anni del D-Day comprata addirittura nel '94... Il kit è vecchiotto, ma ancora si difende bene, oltretutto il fit è favoloso, ho usato pochissimo stucco. l'intenzione era quella di realizzare un aereo dello JGr 10, mi piaceva l'idea di farlo con i Wgr 21 e soprattutto con la bellissima livrea con il serpentone in fusoliera. Però il foglio decals in mio possesso, allegato ad una pubblicazione Kagero, non è stato particolarmente collaborativo... Le decals si sono rivelate fragilissime, e nel tentativo di posizionare i lunghi serpenti li ho danneggiati irreversibilmente. Ok, piano B: ovvero cambio di soggetto. Un bell' aereo dello I/Stab Jg 301 con classica banda di identificazione gialla e rossa, e si vive felici lo stesso... ( sì , il filo dell'antenna è abbastanza brutto...) FW 190 D-9 "Dora" - Hasegawa 1/72

It's the old but still good kit, with a loving box-art by Shigeo Koike, to whom i have added the old dedicated PE sheet from Eduard I have done some work on the wheels bay ( incorrect because it's for an A version ), drilling and removing part of the floor and adding tubes and cables with evergreen, stretched sprue and copper and lead wire. Painting was done with Mr.Color and Tamiya and weathering with oils, pastels and pigments. The aircraft depicted represents a Dora build from Roland Weserflug found at Pilsen in 1945, probably belonged to an unidentified Erg.KG(J) unit. Camouflage is very interesting, according with my main source ( Fw 190 D camouflage & markings II -Japo) aircraft sported a true patchwork... Fuselage was in 76 with an upper camouflage in 81 with a single area in 82 behind the canopy; engine unit was originally in 83 over 76 ( in a classic Junkers finish) , but the engine cowl was partially oversprayed

New Eduard 1/48 Bf 109 G-6 Late - first look

Ed eccolo, finalmente, preso ieri dal mio negozio di fiducia dopo averlo preventivamente prenotato. La bellissima box art di Shigeo Koike ( grande acquisto da parte di Eduard ) già impreziosisce la confezione... Aprendo la scatola poi ci si trova di fronte a due grandi stampate, altre due più piccole relative a semifusoliere ed ali, una stampata trasparente con una caterva di tettucci, foglio di fotoincisioni zoom precolorato, foglietto masks pretagliate e ricco foglio decals ----- And at last here it is, fresh picked yesterday from my local store after having booked it previously . Hawker Typhoon IB - Airfix 1/72

Primo kit Airfix dopo un sacco di tempo, ed a parte qualche piccola imprecisione ( un po troppe sbavature per un nuovo stampo e fit a volte non proprio semplificato ) trovo che la nuova linea di kit della storica casa inglese sia veramente sorprendente. Per un 1/72 ha un livello molto alto di dettaglio, in questo caso specifico forse solo il pannello strumenti è un po' basic ( il pannello è piatto e gli strumenti sono rappresentati su una decal ). Infatti l'ho prontamente sostituito con un foglio di fotoincisioni zoom della Eduard, anche se tutto sommato alla fine si vede ben poco... Dipinto con colori Tamiya e Mr.Hobby, dopo aver preventivamente dato una mano di Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal spray. Tra il Bare Metal ed il camouflage ho passato una mano di Worn Effect AK Interactive per poter ottenere poi delle scrostature realistiche. SU-122 - Tamiya 1/48

Another Tamiya little gem, i built it adding Hauler dedicated sheet. The camo is quite generic, and do not represent a specific tank although the diamond marking with number inside is documented on a Su-122 at Kursk ( mine is supposed to operate at the end '44-beginning 1945). Whitewash done with the HS tecnique, weathering with oils, pigments and specifics products by AK and Ammo.

Jagdtiger Henschel - Tamiya 1/35

Un altro kit "shake & bake", unica pecca qualche leggero ritiro della plastica sullo scafo risolto con qualche stuccatura, e qualche acrobazia per adattare la canna in metallo RB ( originariamente pensata per il kit Dragon), ma niente di impossibile, e lo dice uno che non è propriamente un mago dell'assemblaggio... Il carro che ho deciso di rappresentare appartiene al 1/653° Schwere Panzerjägerabteilung, non l'esemplare suggerito nel foglio decals ma un'altro, non documentato ma sicuramente esistito, tanto per fare qualcosa di diverso e con maggior licenza modellistica ( cosa che adoro...). Il camouflage è stato realizzato usando colori Gunze e Tamiya, e il weathering con oli, pigmenti, prodotti specifici AK Interactive e Ammo Mig. M10 Tank Destroyer - Tamiya 1/48

Kit ottimo, si monta quasi da solo come da tradizione Tamiya. Montaggio da scatola con qualche piccola aggiunta in lamierino, evergreen e filo di rame, la .50 cal. è in resina della Hauler. L'unico intoppo che ho trovato è stato nel chiudere i cingoli, a mio parere manca almeno una maglia perchè risultano troppo corti... Weathering realizzato usando prodotti specifici AK Interactive e Ammo Mig, oli e soprattutto pigm enti, con Tank Art di Michael Rinaldi usato come preziosissimo riferimento. I markings del carro sono una personale speculazione, avendo preso spunto da una foto di un mezzo simile aggregato alla 10th Mountain Division operante nel nord Italia tra la fine del '44 e l'inizio del '45. Sturmgeschutz III Ausf G - Tamiya 1/48

Beautiful little kit, as usual for Tamiya: i added Hauler grills and some stowage, both from Hauler and Tamiya accessoires set. Spare idler ( old type) is from the box, probably a sprue shared with the early Stug B kit. Clamps are self-made with copper sheet, Markings are speculative, and represents a 242nd Stug Brigade tank, operating in Italy on 1944. Weathering done with, oils, pigments and Ammo & Ak Interactive stuffs. Markings: balkenkreuz from the decal sheet, letter "A" from an old Letraset sheet, and 242° Stug Bgd badge is painted free hand.
